Another Bzzagent Post

Oh no you didnt
So I got my Pledge Multi Surface samples from Bzzagent today. I was really excited to get them because for whatever reason, toddlers/small children seem to be sticky and leave sticky goo on many surfaces. Plus we all know the hub is not the best housekeeper so I definitely need something fast and easy to clean up the messes I find when I get home. Today, the coffee table and the side table needed some attention. I ripped into one of the Pledge Multi Surface wipes and cleaned them both up super-quick. I was pretty surprised that the wipe cleaned the glass as well as the wood. I really didn't expect it to clean streak free but it did.

I am going to try the spray tomorrow.

Just a little Bzzzz

I am in the Bzzagent Scrubbing Bubbles Action Scrubber campaign. Yesterday I finally received my package and I was really excited to try it this morning. For once it worked in my favor that the bathroom was not clean. I applied the scrubbie part to the handle and ran it under the water per instructions and then went at my tub. I was seriously impressed at how fast and easy it was to clean the tub. My tiles are nice and shiny again and the tub is a glistening white. It took me no more than five minutes to get the entire tub and shower done too. Good stuff!!!

Then again, I have always had good luck with scrubbing bubbles products.

I just did a friends cut.

I have been meaning to for a while. If you think I may have made a mistake or if you really do enjoy reading about my life, just drop a message. Also, if you feel like you should have been cut and were not, well drop me a line as well.

Just circling the wagons.

Check in please

[info]harleen, [info]nxyalinth and [info]dreamincolor, please check in to let us know you are all ok. Everything is ok up here in Lakeland. Just a lot of rain and some wind but nothing too bad.

[info]ossie has checked in already. Sounds like he got it pretty bad where he is. :(

Yep, you read that right.

I was running a little tight on time this morning anyway. When does a new mother ever really have her time planned right when trying to make an appointment in the morning anyway. So, I left my bedroom with Abby and was going to leave the house. For some reason I had to go into the kitchen. I knew something was not right because I thought Milo jumped off the kitchen counter. Now, Milo does not go on the counter. Remember? He's "special" and cannot jump like other cats. Still, I thought that was the noise I had heard. Then I see what I thought was a giant bug flying at me, but then my eyes refocus and I realize it is a sparrow. I have no idea how the bird got in the house but near as I can guess he must have managed to get inside the screen of the patio and then Milo caught him out there and brought him in. Milo is not as "special" as I think he is apparently. So, the bird flies into the open pantry, except he is down low and Milo almost catches him. So by this point I am yelling at the cat, chasing a bird and nearly in tears because I am thinking I am going to have to watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom unfold in my house. The bird then flies into the living room into one of my plants and Milo catches it again. I am really freaking out now. All this while I am also thinking about the fact that I am going to be late for my appointment with the dildocam. (That's for the next part of the story.) So the bird gets free of Milo and flies back towards the kitchen but lands on the floor in the corner and I somehow manage to catch it with both my hands. It was so small and cute really but it had no business in my house. So, I took it out the front door and let it go. It hid under the hose out front and it was still there when I left the house a few minutes later.

Dildocam:
I made it to the appointment at 10AM exactly. They took me right in too. Fortunately the dermoid cyst is still small, nearly 2cm around and it can wait some more before I have to have it removed. I have to see the doc again in October so they can take another look at it and maybe I will have surgery at that time. So much fun, my plumbing. I guess I shouldn't complain though since these cysts are always benign. It will make my 4th surgery though for those of you losing count. :(

Abby:
Been cranky today too but I am chalking it up to a growth spurt. I have figured out a way to get her to stop fussing though. If I put her in the Snugli and go for a walk she is happy as can be. So we went for 2 walks so far today. Guess this means she thinks I need to get off my expanding ass and do something about it. Fine, baby girl, fine.

To my Florida friends:

If you have hurricane rations left over today is a good day to donate them to a local soup kitchen.  Apparently the donating is up this year but so is the need...the need is up by 50% at some places.  I know I don't eat most of the canned stuff I bought for the hurricanes and it will not be any good come next hurricane season.  Makes me feel a little better to know someone might not completely miss out tomorrow....even if they are only eating Raviolis and canned chicken.

Update!!!

[info]mactavish and [info]indigoskynet, thank you so much for your help.  [info]lajoie28 will be in much better shape come tomorrow thanks to your friends and my friends here too.  Of course she is still in the hole with her bank but once the paperwork is in order there she should be ok.  I think.

Thank you everyone on my friends list who contributed as well.  The kindness on LJ never fails to amaze!!!

A friend in need

Hey all....Please read this post.

A good friend of mine on here had her wallet lost/stolen and lost her debit card and bus pass.  Whoever has her card has already overdrafted her account and she has no means to get to and from work because of this mess.  The bank has told her it is going to take 2 weeks to straighten out.  In the mean time, she has no food/money until payday.

If there is any way an of you can help her out it would be fabulous.  A few people contributing $5 bucks would go a long way to help her.

She is legit.  She's been a friend of mine on here for almost as long as I have been on LJ.

Contact me if you want to help and I will give you her paypal email address.  She does need $130 just to get out of the hole at her bank...then she needs money for the bus and food.  How about forgoing one coffee a day to help a friend in need????

Thanks...

This is for [info]lajoie28.

Oh yeah, if you cannot help but think you might have friends who will, go ahead and link this post to your journal. Thanks.

Gotta go

Been farting around on this computer too long.

I have to leave with enough time to go and try and beat a chicken at Tic Tac Toe.  Seriously.  At the Hard Rock Casino.

If you beat the chicken you win $100 and it is free to play.  If you beat the chicken twice in a row you win $10,000.  *grins*

Supposedly it is fairly difficult.  But Laura needs $$$$ and there is chicken that wants to play me.

Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual sale began today.

I was the opening manager, and damn if women were not lined up at my gate with their faces pressed against it almost licking it wanting to get in. We opened one hour early and it was mayhem from 9 AM on. The DM made a surprise visit at about 4. I guess he was concerned that we were not staffed right or something....

But hell, [info]thedruproject was on for 8 hours today...so how could it not run smoothly. *wink*

We were killing our numbers when I left...I am guessing we will close about 300% up from plan.

Brilliant

I have been wanting to strike out on my own.....you know, business-wise.

I think I am going to open a CAT boot and hat store. *grins* Maybe I will sell some additional accessories too. Swords, plumes...that sort of thing.

Tomorrow.

How cool is that? It does not seem like a year to me at all. Thankfully it has been a fabulous year. Not at all difficult like some people talk about. I think it's because neither Jose nor I had been married before and because we were both in our late 30s. I do think it makes a difference.

Today we went shopping in the morning and I got two pretty sweaters at Limited. Always a good thing for me to shop there because I get 40% off which I love. We also bought 1 pair of sandals each at Rack Room on their buy 1 get 1 1/2 off sale. I LOVE mine. I was in need of a pair of more casual black sandals and got exactly what I needed. Jose's sandals are a little South Beach but he is always more concerned with comfort than fashion and I can understand that. Now to keep Teddy from peeing on them. (Ted likes to take target practice on Jose's shoes.)

After shopping we went to Busch Gardens. We only hit the hospitality house once...and they were not serving Mike's Hard Lemonade today. *frowny face* We did ride three roller coasters, hardly any lines at all. Very surprising since it was a Sunday and gorgeous weather. Per usual the Clydesdales were absolutely gorgeous.

We topped the day off with some Thai food. Yum.

I am not sure if we are going out tomorrow night or not. Jose is already in bed asleep.

Good laugh

My father called my mother today. During the course of the conversation he told my mother that I am too thin. What a laugh. This is the same man that persecuted me about my weight my whole life...

Never in a million years would I have guessed he would have said that. NEVER.

I absolutely HAVE to have this shirt....

I am sure most of you know why. (It will be two years in August.)

And so it goes....and so it goes...

Last night my hubby came running into the computer room and jumped onto the futon. Wise move, seeing he is a BIG man and the futon is (was) a rickety wooden thing. I hear a CRACK and he sort of fell through the futon. We then took the mattress off the frame to find out he had cracked right through the bottom support thing. So now, the busted frame is in the garage and the mattress is on the floor proped up against the wall sort of like a couch but on the ground.

I think I could actually grow to like it this way because this room is so small. The only thing is, it is too college dormitory...and that is a look we have been moving away from.

Oh well. Can't do anything about it right now. Next big furniture purchase will be a king sized bed.

No no no.....

So I have been thinking

Oh no you didnt
Yes, it seems impossible, or very unlikely....but I have. Sadly, thinking is just the sort of thing that wakes me up at 3:30AM and keeps me up so I do try to keep it to a minimum.

Remember, Six Degrees of Separation and that whole Kevin Bacon thing? I think it was something like every person is only removed from Kevin Bacon by six people. Well since I cannot remember exactly how that goes I am just going to wing it and make this just a "famous people I have met" deal.

Here goes:
I have met the following famous people:
Gene Wilder, actor and comedian
Don Baylor, baseball player (neighbor of mine when I was a kid)
Ekatarina Gordeeva & Sergei Grinkov, Olympic Ice Skaters (lived on my street in CT)
Viktor Petrenkov, Olympic Ice Skaters (lived on my street in CT)
Craig Simpson, hockey player (lived on my street in CT) (And, if the name is not familiar, he played hockey with the Hartford Whalers, when there was a Hartford Whalers)
Venus & Serena Williams, tennis players (I helped them when they were shopping at a BBW in Palm Beach Gardens FL)
Corey Pavin, Pro Golfer (Also a shopper in one of the stores I worked in.)
Kristy McNichol, actress *snicker*
Also, I kissed the Bill Clinton impersonator that used to perform on Jay Leno's show. I don't know his name though.

People who people I know, know:
I hang out with a girl who is Richard Petty's god-daughter.
A sorority sister of mine screwed Paul Coffey.
My Dad's college football coach was Otto Graham

People you would think I am related to but am not in any way shape or form...more's the pity.
Tom Clancy
Fiorello LaGuardia

EDIT:
[info]indigoskynet commented back with the following information:
Here's the Oracle of Bacon at Virginia for the game: http://www.cs.virginia.edu/oracle/

And you've got a Bacon Number of 3 because

The Oracle says: Gene Wilder has a Bacon number of 2.

Gene Wilder was in Funny About Love (1990) with Mary Stuart Masterson
Mary Stuart Masterson was in Digging to China (1998) with Kevin Bacon
